Google's CEO and AI
Google CEO Sundar continues to publicly assert that AI will be more
profound to human civilization than fire or electricity. Utterly
self-serving nonsense of course -- and I assume he's smart enough to
know this.
Civilization could continue quite handily without any AI. We don't
need it, and most people don't want it (including both techies and
non-techies -- the latter have very rapidly realized that generative
AI is garbage, often dangerous garbage).
But without electricity there of course wouldn't be any AI at all, and
without fire no civilization.
Billionaire Sundar has led Google astray, and he doesn't care how much
damage AI does to civilization.
