Google's awful changes to the the YouTube TV interface
After recently improving the #YouTube TV interface by putting ALL
newly active channel subscriptions at the top of the subscription list
rather just the first 10 and the rest alphabetically, making it super
easy to just scroll down and look at the the most recent channel
activity, #Google has (of course!) now taken a big step backward.
They're now putting channel shorts (which of course are vertical,
taking up most of the space) ABOVE the most recent videos for a
channel. Meaning to check a channel for recent activity, you have to
select and then scroll down past the shorts. Shorts are a big deal to
Google -- they view them as Instagram type money makers -- but they
are often inane, and since they don't show their date or duration you
have no idea how current they are. They're painful to get past,
painful to watch, loop inanely, and are just generally the most
worthless aspect of YouTube now -- well, other than Google's push to
get users to use AI to create more worthless trash videos. So of
course, Google is highlighting shorts! When it comes to user
experience, Google no longer cares at all. AWFUL.
