AI chatbots channeling Tevye
A rather obvious aspect of LLM generative AI chatbots is that they so
often not only give "non-answers" to questions, but their replies are
often not consistent. The same query can result in completely
different and often contradictory replies, even for queries made
within seconds of each other.
The waffling of these chatbots on so many replies, sort of like,
"Well, on this hand, they might do this, but on the other hand, they
might do that, but then again, it could be this, and possibly it could
be that ...", reminds me of some of the soliloquies by Tevye in
"Fiddler on the Roof" -- but far less amusing.
