People hate data centers
More and more news stories about how local communities don't want data
centers around. Tremendous power requirements, often noisy as hell
24/7. Big Tech will always tout lots of "new jobs", but the reality is
those jobs are only during construction, once operational these data
centers need only a handful of routine employees. And these are mostly
now for AI systems that nobody asked for and that are, frankly,
ruining so much of society at the behest of billionaire Big Tech CEOs,
who don't care how many people are hurt and won't take any
responsibility for the damage their AI systems are doing. -L
