Google's Waymo problem is even worse than it seems
While the technology of Google's Waymo robotaxis is very impressive,
Google/Alphabet has a problem with them that is only going to get
worse.
They've become -- fairly or not -- a symbol of Big Tech dehumanization
and now perceived (again, fairly or not) partnership with a fascist
federal government.
This has been made exacerbatged by the image of Google's CEO Sundar
standing happily with Trump at his inauguration, giving him a million
dollars toward that inauguration, and being utterly silent on his
abuses to date.
The perception that Google and other Big Tech firms are forcing error
prone and often privacy-invasive generative AI on users is only adding
to this problem.
Absent major course corrections by these executives, it will indeed
all continue to get much worse.
