For some reason the Windows version of Picasa is much more responsive.
When some files/folders are updated outside the tool, Picasa quickly
recognizes the change and updates its cache.

However, the Linux version takes ages to update, or even forever,
until you manually remove the folder, apply, and add it again.

Is this a problem/limitation with wine? Is it intended, in order to
avoid some performance problems?

If nothing better, I strongly support Olivier's suggestion of making
"refresh thumbnails" reload the files and subfolders.
