Yes, I get the same error message when I click the "web albums" button to upload some pictures. But not all the time. Sometimes the upload process starts but quickly stops with a "Failed to connect to server" error. This happens over and over. I'm uploading from China and I read somewhere that picasa web albums are blocked here, but there is a workaround for that here: http://www.shanghaitechwriter.com/2009/08/05/accessing-google-picasa-web-album-in-china/
Still, it doesn't help with uploading. I've also tried uploading via a vpn (witopia) but that also doesn't work for me, so I think there must be a problem that is not related to China.
