Well, I wasn't clear enough.

I have this problem on Windows XP, Picasa. I guess I misposted my message,
it's linux group. I have a dual boot machine, I have ubuntu + win xp. I
don't think that matters. The issue is within Windows Picasa. Linux works
smoothly.
