I have the same issue. I cannot get my photo's from an additional USB
HDD into Picasa. Will not let me "import" nor see HDD with Picasa's
file manager. HDD is mounted and all files can be accessed through
Nautilus 2.28.1. Clicking on the HDD Icon on the desktop opens
Nautilus. I tried to refresh or re-scan photo's in Picasa but still
none from additional HDD. Tried this in Mint 8 and latest version of
Kubuntu, Neither worked properly.

I love Picasa, and I think Google software is "da bomb!" I don't
think I use anything MS anymore now.
Keep up the good work!
