Have the same problem with Fuji S2950 and Mepis 11 Picasa 3.0 or Picasa
3.8.
I can import just fine with Digicam no problem detects the camera and
puts them
in the appropriate folders as set in the configuration for Digacam.
I also own a Fuji S9000 and have no problem with Picasa detecting the
camera
and importing the pictures. Only difference I can see between the two
cameras is
the Fuji S2950 is reported by the system as a USB PTP(Picture Transfer
Protocol) class camera
and the Fuji S9000 is reported as a Mass Storage Camera.
So if anyone comes up with a solution for Picasa, I would be interested
other wise the only
solution to the problem is to import with another application unfortunately

I'm on ubuntu 10.10,
picasa 3.0
the camera is detected as a usb device
clicking on in the import tab, doesn't open up the pictures
I can move the files into a folder & import as normal
any suggestions for removing the extra steps
the files are nested inside a couple of folders
