I used to used to Picasa on wine, I use digiKam now, the thing I really missed was/is the face recognition, but they tell me it is going to be there in digiKam 3.3. It does has really nice renaming and directory (date based for me) options on download from camera, or wherever, and It uploads lots of different web albums.
