The advantage to using the Flash Maps API over the Javascript Maps API is the more advanced rendering you get with Flash.
The Earth API has its own rendering engine - it doesnt use 'Google Maps' imagry etc at all. So really the Earth API is just a javascript interface to Google Earth - that happens to be easy to intergrate with the Google Maps API. Having a Flex version of the Earth API wouldn't really give you any advantages. I believe Flash can interact with javascript in the container page, so you could actully just build a Flash 'wrapper' to the (Javascript) Earth API. (my point being anyone can do that, it doesnt need 'Google' to do it) On Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 2:08 PM, Megharaja <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > I have seen couple of post regarding google earth API for flex and > they asked about is there API available google earth for flex and > somebody mentioned that it is not making sense to have API for flex. > > My question is the google map api is available for both flex and JS > like wise if the google earth API is available for javascript why it > is not possible for flex. > > We can use google earth API for javascript in Flex. But this is not > advisable interms of maintenance, development time and performance. > > I want to know is there news about Google Earth API for Flex. > > > Thanks, > Megharaja S.H. > > > -- Barry - www.nearby.org.uk - www.geograph.org.uk - --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API For Flash" group.
