Hej Pamela, this bug (http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail? id=757) is expensive for the performance of our application and so we still use version 1.6. But it seems that something changes in the last two days. We use version 1.6 for compiling our application, but the API loads /mapfiles/lib/map_1_7a.swf. I see the DEBUG-Letters in grey instead of red and so I'm sure that is version 1.7. And I also see in log-files that some tiles are requested twice, which is such a huge problem for our application.
It would be nice to get a comment for this strange behaviour.
