Hey Matt- It seems that we don't have good detection for multiple fast zooms. I'm not sure how many non-developers (users) zoom very quickly multiple times, but if you think there are many who do, please file an issue in the Issue Tracker for canceling tiles from a previous zoom request if a new zoom request has been issued within a short period of time.
