This is far from obvious, but you probably can get rid
of this by not panning _and_ zooming at the same time.
It happened to me too after I turned enabled continuousZoom
and subsequently called panTo() and zoom. Obviously in all
other similar situations, no matter programmatically- or
user-initiated.

to control the changes.
