Just thought I'd share a site that I've been working on for a few
months that built in Flex using the Google Maps API for Flash. It uses
PHP, MySQL, and AMFPHP for all the dynamic data. I demo'd a previous
version of this site at Adobe MAX for those of you who were at the
Google Maps session. The site is for ocean education (mainly for K-12
students and adults who are still big kids, like me). It tracks ocean
drifter devices that have GPS modules and communicate via the Iridium
satellite network.

I still have some things to improve and expand, but I'd love
everyone's thoughts and suggestions. I'm also working on refining a
class I developed to convert the maps into static map URLs (you can
see it in use on the site), which I will then share as an open source
project. Let me know if you're interested and I can give you a sneak
peak.
