actually solved this problem. But if anybody needs it:
on the event handler, i just called the map object an got the event
target's latLng.
function getInfo(event:MapMouseEvent):void{
map.openInfoWindow(event.latLng,
new InfoWindowOptions({title: "Click Event", content: "You clicked
the map!"}));
}
