What I did was *use google earth*, then go to where I wanted and *read the lat and long* there. *Or* if you're looking for a city you can enter the coordinates after the city name like *San Francisco coordinates*. I'm not an experienced google map guy maybe someone else will read this and chime in with a better suggestion.
