Hi Hugo, Just came across this issue myself last night. Not 100% sure if a bug or not, but maybe worth logging in the Issue Tracker though.
The only way around it is to set View.VIEWMODE_ORTHOGONAL or View.VIEWMODE_PERSPECTIVE, I use the formaer as it is less heavyweight and keep the attitude as attitude(0,0,0). Not perfect but it does work.
