Anika No there is nothing else you need to change other than the API key. The initialization failed message is shown for 2 reasons 1) if the api key doesn't match the domain on which the application is being served. 2) if there is no network availability on the webserver you have deployed your application. I mean the webserver should be able to access googlemapapis.com (check the site for exact URL) .
Due to one of the 2 reasons your application isn't working.
