Hi Joe - In the long term, it would be desirable to give developers more control and flexibility in terms of map styling.
But I would not place any guarantees on the density of labels/icons in the default road map type - that could remain the same, increase, or decrease. As another developer mentioned here, the only way to guarantee the appearance of map tiles is to render them yourself (using something like OSM) and serve them as a custom map type. - pamela On Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 2:45 AM, Joe <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > I noticed that a lot of the local business data icons which are > embedded in the maps.google.com tiles no longer are showing up in > tiles which are called via the api -- the end result is a lot cleaner > looking tiles which is great. > > Is it a long-term goal to provide developers with cleaner tiles?
