Hi

I'm currently using a library which allowed me to download the shape
file and read it, converting polygons or polylines to Flash objects
(sprites or movieclips)

I didn't test it in conjunction with Google Maps, but I suppose there
would be no problems at all in using the downloaded file as an
overlay.
I think it only supports points, polylines and polygons, though.
