The restriction has been lifted and I have produced other apps using the Flash CS5 iphone packager.
I substituded google maps flash api for yahoo maps flash api and it seems to be working just fine. I exported a .ipa and it launched perfectly on the iphone and itouch. It would be nice if google updated their google maps flash api to account for the Flash CS5 iphone packager.
