The answers posted here appear to be wrong, the onMapReady function is defined in the code posted, the problem is stating that the mapevent_mapready is not an event or attribute of Map. If you still need an answer on any of this please post the swc version you were using, as well as Flex SDK version, so I can be sure I'm replicating appropriately. The percentages are not allowed here messages are because in the google Map object the height and width properties must be defined as Numbers rather than Objects which could be treated as Strings or Numbers, it sounds go me like maybe you somehow have the wrong swc in there still, this has nothing to do with explicitly setting size on the application. Generally speaking these namespace definitions go in the WindowedApplication/Application tag xmlns:maps="com.google.maps.*"
