Just been following the excellent tutorial below:

Using PHP/MySQL with Google Maps
Pamela Fox

I am currently looking to create an international store locator.
Whilst this has worked well for uk stores if I add any store in for
Europe i.e. France or Netherlands the geocoder object seems to be
return some rather strang lat and lng figures. I have located the
stores via google maps and obtained co-ordinates via several other geo
coders. These have been entered into the database for the addresses
held, all good there. However it seems when you use the actual address
for the store or a road name, area or province the geocoder returns
different co-oridnates that are no where near the actual co-ordinates.
The only way I found this out was by search within a 200 mile radius
which would then return the position of the store at the wrongly
generated co-ordinates.

Is there something wrong with the GClientGeocoder() so it returns
different co-ordinates than google maps search on exactly the same
addresses? Or am I missing a trick here? Or is there newer code that
resolves this issue.

Any reply welcome.

Regards

Mark
