IE6 cannot display transparent PNGs (SHADOWS) without the "alphaImageLoader" filter. It is a horrible kludge. It consumes a lot of resources.
Try custom transparent GIF markers without shadows. If you are attempting to place 800 markers on the same page, you must use small markers.
