Thanks marcelo for pointing me nicely on the posting guidelines. As your guidelines say I was trying to setup a page on Google pages... they take all the javascript code out when I save the things I have done in the HTML editor. Loading the map in Geoscities tells me the key is not valid for this specific web pag although I registered the page at google... But all this is OT.
However, the code can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/tom75dd it is just not possible to get a map or anything else then pure HTML not connected to the google key. @Mike: As you can see already in the code posted here I changed to the code snippet you suggested. But it is so much zooming in that no data are available mor at this zoom level. Even more confusing is the zoom control of the GLargeMapControl, because it is telling me that I am zoomed totally out!? Apart from all this the map gets not centered on the clicked marker and it takes ages to load anything. Looks like something is going in a loop. I would be happy if someone could have a look on the code although it got posted here unauthorized.
