Well, now I'm on the same point as you, check my site www.nqntra.com I've been trying to trigger a startdrag GEvent, but so far no luck. The only other option I can think of, is to make a custom GIcon of a raised marker like so http://www.nqntra.com/icons/raised_Placemarker.png and use that as the GIcon for the marker. The problem with that is that you would have to change to marker back to it's regular icon once you've placed it to avoid having a raised placemarker on the map. After thinking about this for a while I'm convincing myself it might only be doable with a hack, like using the marker.Pa and marker.Xa kind of attributes, yet I don't know enought about them to find out which one controls a raised or dragged state.
