The only difference i know between using visibility=hidden and
display=none is to do with the size of the non-visible/hidden element.

An element with display=none has a size of zero pixels square.

An element with visibility=hidden retains it's original size - even
though it cannot be seen.

Not sure if that relevant or not...

My HtmlControl uses display style and not visibility style to hide
itself and has no problems with re-appearing as other map actions are
performed.
