Well, you can add a title using a tooltip, that's in the basic documentation, or you could create a set of images with numbers on them (or use Google's set) and create different icons for each number. There are third party add-on's that do this as well, but if you want to stay within the documented features of the API, those are your choices. I leave it to you to figure out how to implement that in your own page.
