I agree that is not good for OpenStreetMap - as will be derived from TeleAtlas Data.
Though it is not Google fault but the person who digitises the data from Google Maps. email him may not work but we need to find out if the data is already in the OSM data (fundamental it crushes the entire point of OpenStreetMap) http://peterdamen.com/PeterDamenResume.pdf he must of uploaded it via a username.
