Well, there must be a hundred examples of XML files referred to in
this group.

If you checked them out, you'd find that none included the lines
  <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://
www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-trict.dtd">
  <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"; xml:lang="en" lang="en">
so maybe you should take those out.

Note, that many examples do not include
  <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'>
either, but they're not wanting to include danish characters either.
You want to keep that line in.

Have you found out how to inspect the XML you are making, just by
pasting the URL
   http://www.micmus.dk/new_phpsqlajax_genxml.php
in your browser address bar? Most browsers will give you a clue if
they think something is wrong. IE is fussier than others, so always
worth trying with that too.

cheers, Ross K
