I noticed something.

If I change the ratio of the height and width in the div than
different parts "fall off"

in other words ..  if I make the map a lot longer than wide, I might
even see continents twice on a map.

So I guess my question turned into:

What does the ratio between the height and the width, of the div I put
the map in, need to be in order to have no repeats and/or no parts
missing (except for that 85 degree pole situation)
