As Ralph above said, you are using very old API version 1 code which is out dated, you need to use version 2.
Where did you get that code from, you shouldn't be using it as it's so old and the samples given to you will not work, particularly things like the MapIconMaker posted above. And post links to your page rather than code, just looks a mess when posted to the group.
