Yes, I know what you mean: you basically "force" all checkboxes to be
checked and all marker categories to appear. I did this in an earlier
layout:

... and it works fine. But unfortunately the idea is to NOT do this
and have the status of the checkboxes remembered instead, so the user
does not always have to uncheck checkboxes again and again just
because he changed some search parameters.

But as you suggested - my research continues ... :-)
