solved

it was something stoopid - i have some php code under the map which
pulls in the last 5 entries (content) from our shopping cart but only
the first 100 odd characters of text and there was a table in the
content which got cut off so wasnt closed properly on the page and
barfed ie - i moved the table in the shopping cart product description
and everything is hunky dory....
