Google Maps seems to consumer a KML file differently that G-Earth. I have a web page:
http://services.oci.ga.gov/Geo_kml_Regionalassistance/Default.aspx this data works if G-Earth but not in G-maps. When I save the xml to a file like regionalassistance.kml, then it can be imported. I tried to find parsing differences between both apps - found it once, but could not find it again.
