http://gt*.google.com is the Google MapMaker tile server.
See: http://www.google.com/mapmaker There doesn't seem to be any information about what MapMaker is actually for. There's lots of info on how to use it. It looks like Google might possibly have got hold of some maps which contain unreliable or incomplete content. MapMaker allows anyone to update the content. I guess that if Google every consider the updated content to be sufficiently complete and reliable they might release then to Google Maps. The MapMaker Terms prohibit the use of the MapMaker imagery for other purposes. E.g. it would be a violation of the MapMaker Terms to create a Maps API custom GMapType or GTileLayerOverlay that had a .getTileUrl() that pointed to the MapMaker tiles. -- http://econym.org.uk/gmap The Blackpool Community Church Javascript Team --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
