1. A proxy will provide the actual data (or better yet, a preprocessed
version if you need it). It will just be in an indirect manner (i.e.
proxied).

2. This is not possible in pure HTML/JavaScript because of the
security issues of cross domain scripting. Even trying to work it out
using IFRAMEs is only going to give you headaches.
