There's no way that we can determine what the cause of your particular "a has no properties" is without a link to see it in action. The same error message "a has no properties" does NOT necessarily mean the same problem. "a" is a local variable which is used to mean many different things in the API. Because of this, you should always start a new thread, not simply tack what may be an unrelated problem on to an existing one on the basis of a vague error message. I think we need to amend the posting guidelines to make them more explicit and allow even less leeway.
