Can you explain what you are attempting to do ? Are you trying to display your tiles without a static map ? Are you trying to overlay a static map with your layer of transparent tiles ? Are your images PNGs or GIFs ? Are you trying to stitch together existing tiles in the client with no help from the server ? Are you trying to construct a composit image with the the help of the server ?
