Pleeeeease give me your advice..!

Usually to get geocoding information via HTTP request, we use the
following method:
http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=1600+Amphitheatre+Parkway,+Mountain+View,+CA&output=xml&sensor=true_or_false&key=abcdefg

However, is it possible to get driving direction via HTTP request
rather than use javascript GDirection object ? The reason for doing
this is that I'm trying to get driving distance from A to B through
http request..

please help!
