oh my god, after tedious breakdown of my css file I seem to have found
the source. if i change float: left to float: none in #footer then the
info box resizes in IE6. WHY????? #footer is the footer of my page,
it's completely irrelevent to maps.? And as I don;t understand why
this is happening I have no idea how to fix it, m footer needs this
setting!!!!!!! Argh
