OS 1:50,000 maps do have the advantage of including much more
information than TeleAtlas vector data does (e.g. reasonably-accurate
footpath and bridleway mapping, points of interest such as churches,
names for small things like farms, etc). But I agree that the
OpenSpace API isn't as mature as Google's yet (although, being based
on OpenLayers it has great open-source potential). And the OpenSpace
terms make it _very_ difficult to actually use!

I am awaiting a reply from OS about the new terms. In the meantime I'm
assuming that we can carry on as before. Keep an eye on the
Metropolitan Police's crime map (http://maps.met.police.uk/), which
blatantly plots OS derived data (census areas) directly on Google
Maps. If they are allowed to do this, then I think the rest of us can
too :)
