OS 1:50,000 maps do have the advantage of including much more information than TeleAtlas vector data does (e.g. reasonably-accurate footpath and bridleway mapping, points of interest such as churches, names for small things like farms, etc). But I agree that the OpenSpace API isn't as mature as Google's yet (although, being based on OpenLayers it has great open-source potential). And the OpenSpace terms make it _very_ difficult to actually use! > Since OS raised objections to a specific term in Google's TOS which no > longer exists, at the very least their current position has been > invalidated, and they would need to raise a new objection against the > new terms, but I don't think they'll do that. I am awaiting a reply from OS about the new terms. In the meantime I'm assuming that we can carry on as before. Keep an eye on the Metropolitan Police's crime map (http://maps.met.police.uk/), which blatantly plots OS derived data (census areas) directly on Google Maps. If they are allowed to do this, then I think the rest of us can too :) Anthony --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
