This thread might be applicable: http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/msg/fa48a916003527b0 I get the same first 8 characters as you, and characters 31 through 59 are the same as well. When I save the source to my local hard drive (the key check is skipped for the file:// protocol), I see the map. It looks like the problem is with the google account portion of the key or something in your page is interferring with the load process. Where is the site where the "same" page worked? Was it using a key for localhost or a regular URL? Have you tried a key registered with a different google account?
