Hi All,

I'd just like to mention that Mischl's solution also worked for me.
Using Firefox version 2.0.0.18 I was no longer seeing the regular
(NEW) controls on Google maps.
I am using (not sure if related) Sun Java plugin version 1.6.0_07-b06
Disabling the 'RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 1.0' add-on solved
this for me too!
(Firefox: tools -->Add ons and click on 'Disable' button)

Thanks very much for sharing this information.
