Hello all! We are working on a real estate application for cayman
islands, british west indies using google maps. Unfortunately google
map coverage is quite poor here. When a property is listed - i.e.
added to the site, there is insufficient geo data for Gmaps to
'automatically' pinpoint the property accurately on a map simply from
its written address. So we would like to develop an interface that
will allow the person listing the property to show the property's
physical location on the map by dragging and dropping a 'pin' marker
onto the google satellite view map. Our devs tell us this is not
possible and that Gmaps does not offer the ability to reference
longitute and latitude by a mouse/cursor movement/click. They say this
can only be done with GEarth. We are being offered the option to allow
users to add the properties longitude and latitude by typing in these
co-ordinates but this is not acceptable as any typical user would not
have this information. Are we been given correct information from the
devs?
Thank you for any advice.
