Thanks Larry, appreciate the quick reply: In IE7 it doesn't display the red overlay or the google map controls (zoom, pan, etc.) In IE6 i see the controls but no overlay, only when moving the map, the red overlay appears. In firefox, everything just works.
Have read about similar problems but none of the solutions seemed to apply to my situation. Have tried debugging but the obfuscated, minified google js files aren't too friendly looking. hmmmm.
