It's not clear what you're trying to do really. Your original page contains errors, but I think you're now saying that its the whole method that is your problem.

Which part of this are you having trouble with? I do not know .NET but one key thing that leaps out is "do not wrap your map in an UpdatePanel", which I think you do at present.
