If you're in the US, you can get a lot of street data for free from the government. With that, you can construct a database of streets and do this without doing a guessing game with the routing system, plus you wouldn't be infringing on the terms by storing or utilizing the data retrieved from the map for purposes other than displaying an object on the map, if you have any ideas of using or storing the route data on your server.
